Investing in sustainable long-term energy projects
Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for 75% of the world’s population without access to electricity. There is less than 25% electrification despite the continent being endowed with vast solar, hydro, wind, and geothermal resources. It is the only region in the world where per-capita electricity access rates are falling.
Established in 2016, Southern Energy is a developer and operator of power generation, transmission and distribution assets across Africa. The projects trigger significant socio-economic developments in their respective communities, particularly in health, education, water and sanitation.
